Program Description

The Bright Futures program at Walker-Winter is a fun, safe, and engaging place for students in grades two through five.  Bright Futures meets Monday through Thursday for 2.5 hours after school.

Bright Futures consists of homework time, academic enrichment, and clubs.  During homework time students are given the opportunity to complete homework assignments with the help and encouragement of volunteers and staff members.  Academic activities are offered which complement school day curriculum and use hands-on strategies.  Students choose from a variety of clubs throughout the year.  In the past clubs have included various types of art, music, technology, newspaper, sports & recreation, STEM, CSI, cooking, and culture.  Leadership clubs as well as social emotional learning are also a big focus of Bright Futures.  Clubs change every 4-6 weeks and we are always looking for new and exciting opportunities to bring to our students.

Bright Futures offers several opportunities throughout the year for families to participate and engage in activities. Our six-week summer program runs Monday through Thursday from mid-June until late July.
